Building Arm Muscle

"Exercises That Work the Legs Properly"

One thing I have noticed, and many of you have probably as well, is the infatuation with building arm muscle.

Welcome to the GUN show!

Seriously, if I had a dollar every time I saw "Joe average gym goer" pounding away at his arms in the squat rack...

Nevertheless, training arms is a necessary part of achieving an overall balanced physique.

Bear in mind that the bicep, tricep and forearm are considered smaller muscle groups and are also trained indirectly when doing back pulling movements (biceps) and chest pressing (works triceps as well).

In is not my intention to get into every arm building exercise imaginable, but to show you the ones that work best, in my opinion.

With that said here are some exercises for building big arms.

Building Bicep Muscle

The barbell curl can be considered a core exercise.  When utilized properly, the barbell curl can produce some solid arms.

Check out this video on using proper bicep form when lifting.

Another good exercise for building arm muscle is the seated dumbbell curl.  It is great at isolating the bicep and also gives a good stretch.

Building Tricep Muscle

Many people don't realize that the tricep (back of your arm) makes up 2/3 of the arm!

Therefore, it is important to work the tricep muscle adequately when building big arms.

Forearm Workout

Let's no neglect another important arm muscle, the forearm.

A solid thick forearm tells the story of hard work, although it may not be often that you see someone working forearms at the gym.

The following exercise can be done sitting on a bench as well.
